Milk/soy and yogurt are great sources of protein and calcium. The milk and soy group is divided according to fat content.
Three Milk Categories
Non-fat or 1% milk
2% milk
Whole milk
Cheese does not contain carbohydrates and is made of protein therefore it is listed under the meat food group. Creams and other fatty dairy products are listed as fats.
For those with lactose intolerance, look for lactose-free products.
